Embedded with Sheik Hilaly follows Dave, a 20-something, beer drinking, bacon loving white guy from Brisbane, who moves in to live with controversial Muslim figure, Sheik Taj El Hilaly, in an attempt to discover what being Muslim is really like. Together they form a bond that resembles a modern day ‘Odd Couple’.

Through a series of comic observational moments the film examines some of the bigger issues that often divide the Muslim community from wider Australia

The documentary is the first in a 3 part factual TV series Embedded produced by Red Ithaka Productions, where 20-something Australians from varying backgrounds are transplanted into different cultures to learn and share their experiences.
